The following terms are commonly used in Torsion.


B


Business Owner Definition: The individual(s) responsible for an Information Resource in the data governance process.

Data Governance: The systematic management of the availability, integrity, usability, and security of data in an enterprise.

Information Resource: Files or Folders in Teams and your OneDrive, Document Library, List, List Item or Site in SharePoint.



U


User Source: A connection to a collection of User Records in a customer's Information System. Example: Azure Active Directory, or an exported Excel Spreadsheet from an HR System.



S


Security Classification: A classification applied to containers of Information Resources, indicating the security sensitivity, access rules, and security configuration of the information.


Security Group: A group of people used to grant access to an Information Resource, consisting of either domain or SharePoint groups, named and described meaningfully for accurate selection.


Security Issue: An unusual, suspicious, or rule-breaking security configuration of an Information Resource, determined by the Business Owner as problematic or safely ignored.


Security Rule: Criteria which describes a set of people in the organisation. Example: Users whose Job Title equals 'HR Manager'.


Storage Area: A container used to store information resources. Example: ONEDRIVE, Microsoft Teams, Office 365 Groups and SharePoint Sites.
