Prerequisites for Installing and Using Torsion

Before installing and using Torsion, make sure that you have the following prerequisites in place:

App Catalog

Torsion requires an app catalog to be set up in your SharePoint Online environment. The app catalog is a central location where you can manage and distribute custom SharePoint apps. To set up an app catalog, follow these steps:

Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with your administrator account.

Navigate to the SharePoint admin center.

Click on "Apps" in the left-hand menu, and then select "App catalogs".

Click on "Create a new app catalog site" and follow the prompts to set up the app catalog.

Once the app catalog is set up, you can upload the Torsion app package to the app catalog and deploy it to your SharePoint sites.

Audit Logging

Torsion relies on audit logging to capture and record user and admin activities in Microsoft 365. If audit logging is turned off, Torsion will not be able to log any audit data. To turn on audit logging, follow these steps:

Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with your administrator account.

Navigate to the Security & Compliance Center.

Click on "Search & investigation" in the left-hand menu, and then select "Audit log search".

Click on "Start recording user and admin activities" to turn on audit logging.

Select the activities that you want to log by choosing the appropriate options under "Activities".

Select the date range for which you want to view the audit logs under "Date and time range".

Click on "Search" to view the audit logs for the selected activities and date range.

Once audit logging is turned on, Torsion will be able to capture and log audit data.

By ensuring that you have an app catalog and audit logging set up, you can install and use Torsion with confidence. These prerequisites are essential for Torsion to function properly and provide valuable insights into your Microsoft 365 environment.
